Jacksonville shows Kris Allen pride
Plans unveiled for ‘boyhood home’ sign

he city of Jacksonville would like to shout its love for Kris Allen from the rooftops, but has settled for the highway.
“I can’t brag on Kris enough, and we’re all proud of him,” Mayor Gary Fletcher said at an unveiling ceremony Friday.
When installed, a sign by the Main Street exit from U.S. 67/167 in Jacksonville will welcome everyone to “Jacksonville: the boyhood home of Kris Allen.” The unveiling ceremony was timed to coincide with Allen’s homecoming visit to Arkansas on Saturday as part of the 50-city American Idols Live! concert tour.
